In a show that aired on September 22, Stevoe hosted in depth discussion on effectively promoting and marketing the State of Maine with Barbara Whitten, who is the President/CEO of the Greater Portland Convention and Visitors Bureau. This was followed by an interview with author and speaker Susan Dench, whose new book “The Responsibility Rules” celebrates hard work and self-discipline.
For the past 25 years, Barbara Whitten has provided leadership, vision and
oversight in marketing the city of Portland. She has successfully helped bring hundreds of new events and meetings to the city in her role as President/CEO of the Greater Portland Convention and Visitors Bureau.
The mission of the Convention & Visitors Bureau of Greater Portland is to stimulate the economic vitality of Greater Portland by soliciting and servicing conventions, meetings, groups, and visitors and by promoting Greater Portland as a preferred destination. Whitten discussed upcoming events such as the Harvest on the Harbor, Maine’s premier food and wine event, and “Bring Yours Home,” a local awareness campaign to inspire people to create a significant economic impact in Maine by encouraging national and regional groups to host meetings in Maine.
Susan Dench is on a mission to promote personal responsibility in America. She
helps leaders shape a culture of responsibility and accountability to spark organizational innovation and growth.
In her book, “The Responsibility Rules™: Living a Self-Disciplined Life in a Self-Entitled World,” her plan lays out what we need to do to gain greater self-confidence, happiness and the freedom to reach our personal and professional goals and potential.
