President of the Maine Media Workshops & College<\/a> Margaret \u201cMeg\u201d Weston grew up in Stamford, Connecticut.\u00a0 Weston has a Bachelor\u2019s degree in Communications from USM and a Master\u2019s of Fine Arts degree in Creative Writing from Lesley University.\u00a0 Weston told Stevoe how after she came to Maine on her honeymoon, she knew she wanted to live here and moved to Maine in 1974.<\/p>\n

Weston has over 25 years of experience in various roles in business, media and education, including: President\/CEO of the University of Southern Maine Foundation, President of the Portland Press Herald and Maine Sunday Telegram, President\/COO of the U.S. photofinishing operations of Konica Corporation, and President\/CEO of an Israeli digital imaging start-up called PrintLife.<\/p>\n

In February 2012, Weston was appointed President of Maine Media Workshops + College (MMWC).\u00a0 Weston described MMWC for Stevoe as an experiential education for all skill levels, and that their main goal is to educate and inspire their students.<\/p>\n

In the community, Weston served two terms as a gubernatorial appointment to the University System Board of Trustees and was Chair of the Board for two years.\u00a0 She is currently on the board of Maine Center for Creativity.<\/p>\n

Weston\u2019s passion is photographing volcanoes. Her photography work has been showcased in the solo exhibit, \u201cLavascapes;\u201d in group shows: \u201cAtelier 2007\u201d and the \u201cNext Step\u201d exhibit of alumni of JP Caponigro, as well as on her website, www.volcanoes.com.<\/a><\/p>\n

Maine Media Workshops & College in Rockport recently\u00a0celebrated 40 years (1973-2013) of teaching the art and craft of visual storytelling.\u00a0 The school delivers degree and certificate programs, workshops, intensives, and cooperative labs geared to students pursuing creative work in fine arts and media-related professions.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
